Old Forge Fire Department conducted their 51st Annual Firefighter's Drill School on September 14-17, 2017, including a "Push Ball Contest". The Capital District had one team from Chatham FD and a second team made up of Shaker Road and Fuller Road FDs together that competed.

"The HMVFA conducted their Christmas Bingo at the Home on December 8th, 2019. Afterwards,
Past Trustee Robert Darling had his picture taken with his "Sons" from HM. Bob "adopted" those with him in the picture,
and have been his "Sons" for some time!!!"

On January 1, 2020, the Town of Stuyvesant, NY held their Town's Swearing in ceremony at their Town Hall. Among them was Fire Police Officer Michael Squires, of Stuyvesant Falls Co. #2. Due to work obligations, Michael had to miss his initial Oath of Office but, the Supervisor and Town Clerk invited him to attend the Swearing in Ceremony for the Town Officials.

Presentation of the 2019 Hudson Mohawk Charlie D' Avignon Fire Police Officer of the Year to Michael Gervais.
Michael Gervais , Delmar FD (Albany Co.) Fire Police Captain, was presented the Hudson Mohawk Vol. Firefighter's Assn.'s Charlie D' Avignon 2019 Fire Police Officer of the Year. Supporting letters were read by Fire Police Committee Chair Thomas With and Award presentation by President Mark Dinkelacker. Michael also received the Hudson Valley Vol. Firemen's Assn. 2019 Fire Police Officer of the Year and the 2019 VFPASNY (State Fire Police) Fire Police Officer of the year.
At the 2019 Annual Spring Convention of the Volunteer Fire Police Association of the State of New York, Hudson Mohawk Past President Wilson McKay was awarded the George E. Woodman Award for Fire Police Service Achievement.
"The Woodman Award is presented to an Active Fire Police member of a Volunteer Fire Department, Company or Squad. It is awarded for continued distinguished meritorious service to the Fire Police Community over a prolonged period of years. This individual leads by example and demonstrates total dedication to the fire police service and his/her community and may include being a volunteer in other organizations" Congratulations Wilson McKay!!

Meeting with Santa and Mrs.Claus!
Lots of toys!
About 180 children, along with their parents and other relatives, met with Santa and Mrs. Claus on December 22nd at the Chatham Fire House. Each child met with Santa and Mrs. Claus and then they got to pick out their choice of one toy to take home with them. Everyone had a great time despite the cold weather. Some waited in line for almost two hours!

Chief Paul Rideout and HMVFA Past President David Chapman present a "Community Service Award" at the Chatham Fire Department Annual Banquet April 7, 2018 to Gage Nelson of Chatham, NY for aiding an elderly woman who had fallen and could not get up without assistance. She had been laying on the ground for quite some time before Gage heard her cries for help. Gage came to her aid and stayed with her until EMS arrived.
